ORANGEBURG, N.Y. (WCBS 880) — Billy Keenan has a simple message — never give up.

Keenan is quadriplegic. From his wheelchair he shares his story so that others may learn how to overcome adversity.

The pandemic forced Keenan to put off speaking engagements. During that time he dictated a book, “The Road to Resilience.” It’s slated for release this fall.

Following a surfing accident nine years ago, friends from the Irish music community put on a concert and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Keenan.

Unfortunately someone close to him stole the money in a case that police have not been able to solve, so Keenan's musician friends are doing it again.

On Sunday, October 2, 12 bands will perform at the Rockland Gaelic Athetlic Association field in Orangeburg from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Donations will benefit the William G. Keenan supplemental needs trust.
