2 teens – male, female – injured in Newark shooting

NEWARK, N.J. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Two teenagers were injured in a shooting in Newark on Thursday afternoon, according to Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé.

At around 2:55 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting at S. 11th Street and South Orange Avenue, officials said.

Officers discovered two victims who had been shot. The male victim is approximately 15-years-old, and the female victim is approximately 14-years-old.

The teens were taken to University Hospital for treatment in reportedly stable condition, authorities said.

The investigation is ongoing.
