
WESTMINSTER, Vt. (AP/WCBS 880) — A body found in the Saxtons River in Westminster, Vermont, on Monday is likely that of a missing Brooklyn woman and the death was accidental, the Vermont State Police said.
Erika Seyfried, 36, was last seen around 11 a.m. Sunday when she had gone for a walk with her dog while in the area vacationing with her husband. She was reported missing about 8 p.m. on Sunday.
On Monday members of the Vermont State Police dive team located a body in the river.
The body was being transported to the office of the Vermont Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to confirm the identity and determine the cause and manner of death. The investigation into the death is continuing.
Vermont State Police spokesman Adam Silverman told the Brattleboro Reformer that the dog has not been located.
