Jose Ramos, 56, was riding his bike across Essex Street in its marked crosswalk at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue when the driver of a light-colored sedan struck him around 10:10 p.m., police said.

Cops responded to the Cypress Hill crash Friday to find Ramos lying in the roadway unconscious and unresponsive with severe head and body trauma, police said.

The driver fled from the scene without stopping, continuing to head west on Atlantic Avenue, according to police.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.
