NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — Bruce Springsteen delivered a powerful performance during the somber ceremony at the National September 11 Memorial in New York City, marking the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks.

The performance followed the second moment of silence observed at 9:03 a.m., marking the time United Airlines Flight 175 struck the South Tower of the World Trade Center 20 years ago Saturday.
"May God bless our fallen brothers and sisters," Springsteen said as he took the stage with his guitar and harmonica.
The 71-year-old then performed an acoustic rendition of his "I'll See You In My Dreams," moving many gathered at the memorial to tears.
There was a polite, subdued applause from the audience of dignitaries and family members of those killed in the attacks.
The traditional reading of the names of the 2,983 lives lost in the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing then continued.
