NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — Gov. Andrew Cuomo has denied multiple allegations of sexual misconduct but continues to be dogged by the scandal at his press briefings.

Both the state Assembly and Attorney General Letitia James have launched investigations into the allegations, but they have remained private even though the allegations have been made public.

“Here what has happened is, the complainants have continued to go to the press and make their complaint in the press,” the governor said.

He adds: “It has been very difficult letting people make accusations and not responding, and people have only heard one side of the story.”

While the governor is usually asked about the allegations at his press conferences, Cuomo says he has held his tongue out of respect for the probes.

“I'm trying to be respectful but I'm very eager to tell my side of the story,” the governor said.

He adds that he has not yet been interviewed by Attorney General James’ office, and is urging patience.

“Any good reporter, any good lawyer any savvy New Yorker knows there's always two sides to the story,”

Cuomo has been accused by multiple women of inappropriate behavior, including subjecting some to unwanted kisses and hugs.

However, the governor maintains that kissing people is his customary way of greeting them. He notes that many Italian Americans use cheek kisses as a form of greeting.
