NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Despite being created by the legendary industrialist Henry Ford and his son, Edsel, the Ford Foundation has nothing to do with automobiles. Instead, it’s one of the largest philanthropic organizations in the United States.

Darren Walker currently serves as the President of the Ford Foundation. In 2020, he made headlines with his call to step in and help stabilize non-profit organizations throughout the United States during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite being a vast investment in the welfare and equity of the nation, Walker was just getting started.
This year, for 1010 WINS’ Black History Month series, anchor Larry Mullins was fortunate enough to speak with Walker about the work he’s done so far - even before the pandemic - as well as what’s next.
