NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — Ninety-seven percent of tested COVID-19 cases in New York City in the past four weeks were delta variant cases, but the five boroughs’ infection and hospitalization rates are on the decline, data released Thursday shows.

The delta and alpha variants were “the most widespread variants in the city” this past month, with the former representing 97% of tested cases and the latter representing 1%, NYC Health data shows.
