Drive-by shooting injures woman inside Long Island home

NORTH AMITYVILLE, N.Y. (WCBS 880) — A woman was injured inside a home on Long Island during a drive-by shooting late Tuesday night.

Suffolk County Police responded to a home on Benjoe Drive in North Amityville after shots were fired at a the residence from a passing vehicle around 10:05 p.m.

Officers discovered a 30-year-old woman inside the home with a gunshot wound to the leg.

She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

It's not clear whether the woman was the intended target.

No arrests were reported in the case.
