According to police, Garcia became combative once he got into the ambulance and began repeatedly punching one of the first responders in the face.

The medic’s partner intervened and Garcia his leg, the NYPD said.

The paramedics were taken to Saint Barnabas Hospital and treated for pain and swelling to the face and for a bite wound.

Garcia was transported to the same hospital and charged with felony assault.

An investigation remains ongoing.
