VIDEO: Lasers, bullets fly as carjacking victims fight back in Upper Manhattan

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD released wild video on Friday showing two victims fighting back against three armed thieves who attempted to carjack them in Upper Manhattan on Wednesday.

According to police, a driver and a passenger were sitting inside a black Honda CRV around 9 p.m. in front of 516 West 159th St. when three suspects brandishing black handguns with lasers attached approached and forcibly removed them from their SUV.

A scuffle broke out as the driver refused. The passenger then pulled out a handgun and started shooting at the suspects.

Police said the driver and one of the thieves were fighting as both parties fired at each other. The driver was eventually able to take the suspect's gun away, and the suspect and his group fled to parts unknown.

Cops said the driver and passenger got back into the CRV and fled the scene as well.

Upon arrival, police discovered a 33-year-old bystander with a graze wound to his forehead.

EMS responded and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was treated and released.

All the suspects are described as follows:

Individual #1: A large-built man with short dark hair. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, dark pants and black Nike sneakers.

Individual #2: A thin-built man who was last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirts, dark colored sweatpants, a blue surgical masks and sneakers.

Individual #3: A thin-built man who was last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirts, dark-colored sweatpants, a black balaclava and sneakers.

Inside the CRV: A man with short dreadlocks with a heavy build, and a man with a thin build with short dark hair. The second man was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and dark colored pants.
