Man, 30, slashed at Manhattan subway station after argument on the street

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A 30-year-old man was slashed in a Manhattan subway station after he was followed by a man he had been fighting with on the street, police said.

Just after midnight on Saturday morning the victim was engaged in a fight with two individuals in the vicinity of the 8th Avenue–NYU subway station in Greenwich Village.

The 30-year-old exited the situation, descending the stairs into the transit station, when he was pursued by one of the suspects and slashed in the arm with an unknown sharp object,

He was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition,

The suspect fled in an unknown direction and is described by police as being in his 50s.

There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
