NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Authorities launched an investigation after a man was found dead in blanket on a Brooklyn sidewalk early Thursday, the NYPD said.
At approximately 3:49 a.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a person in need of assistance at 112 Watkins St. in Brownsville.
Upon arrival, officers observed an unidentified, unconscious, and unresponsive adult man lying on a blanket on the sidewalk.
EMS at the location pronounced the man dead at the scene.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death, and the investigation remains ongoing.
The identity of the deceased is pending proper family notification.
