NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police arrested a 37-year-old hit-and-run driver Sunday morning who fatally struck a man as he was leaving work in the East Village in 2022.
Michael Pruitt was charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
Just before 6 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022, police responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision at Third Avenue and St. Mark's Place where 55-year-old Lucas Jimenez-Aburto was found unconscious and unresponsive, on the ground with injuries indicative of being struck by a vehicle.
EMS transported Jimenez-Aburto to NYC Health + Hospitals/ Bellevue, where he was pronounced dead.
