Man driving white van tried to lure girl, 9, in Brooklyn: NYPD

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- A man is accused of trying to lure a young girl in Brooklyn earlier this week, according to police.

It happened on Thursday, Dec. 9 at about 7:30 a.m. near East 28th Street and Avenue Z in Sheepshead Bay.

Police said a person followed a 9-year-old girl along a public street, while touching her shoulder in an attempt to lure her.

The suspect was seen arriving and leaving the area in a light-colored work van, cops said.

The suspect fled the scene in the van westbound on Avenue Z and made a northbound turn on East 27th Street, police said.

No injuries were reported.

Police described the person they’re looking for as a male with a light complexion, last seen wearing a black jacket, black ski mask and blue jeans. Photos were released of the suspect.
