
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — A man on an e-bike threatened to “kill” police officers riding in a NYPD van in Lower Manhattan Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The incident happened around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Rivington Street and Allen Street.
Police say that an unidentified man was following a marked NYPD van on a e-bike before pulling up beside the driver and making threats at officers.
“If I had a weapon, I would kill you,” the man allegedly told uniformed NYPD Traffic Enforcement Agents inside of the vehicle.
Authorities say the man on the bike then punched the driver side mirror on the van, causing it to break off.
The man then fled on the e-bike, heading northbound on Allen Street.
There were no injuries reported in the incident.
Photos from the incident show the suspect was wearing an orange shirt, black shorts, black sneakers and a carried a beige bag.
