NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A wounded man sought refuge in the subway on Friday morning after he was shot on an East Harlem street.
Gunfire erupted just after 3 a.m. at East 125th Street and Lexington Avenue.
The events leading up to the shooting weren't immediately clear, but the victim ran down into the nearby 125th Street station and told a toll booth clerk he'd been shot.
The man was grazed in the shoulder by the bullet, according to police.
He was being treated by EMS, but he was uncooperative with police, complicating the investigation, the NYPD said.
Editor's note: This story was updated to reflect that the shooting happened outside of the subway station, not inside the station.
