NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A man was slashed during a robbery outside a supermarket on the Upper West Side on Thursday morning, police said after officers chased down and nabbed multiple suspects.
The victim was walking along around 1:30 a.m. when he was ambushed in front of the Key Food at West 96th Street and Amsterdam Avenue.
Several thieves slashed him across the face and back as they stole an undetermined amount of cash, police said.
The NYPD responded with a Level 1 mobilization, and officers chased down the suspects and took at least two of them into custody. Charges are pending.
The victim was transported to Mount Sinai Morningside in stable condition.
