NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A 66-year-old British tourist was attacked by a man with a collapsible baton in Central Park after she nearly hit him while bicycling through the park with her daughter, police said Friday as they released an image of the suspect.

The woman was biking at West 96th Street and West Drive, just northwest of the reservoir, around 2:20 p.m. last Thursday when she almost collided with the man as he walked on the bike path, according to police.

The man erupted at the near-miss, yelling at her and whipping out a collapsible baton, which he used to bash her in the head, police said.
