WASHINGTON, D.C. (WCBS 880) -- A New Jersey woman has pleaded guilty to charges connected to the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol riot.
Rasha Abual-Ragheb pleaded guilty Monday to parading, demonstrating or picketing in the Capitol, according to NJ.com. She will be sentenced Nov. 9 and faces a maximum of six months in prison.
According to the report, the woman from Fairfield admitted to what she did, but claims there were “some other reasons” for why she was there, but did not further explain.
According to the FBI, a Facebook account with the name Rasha Abu participated in chats tied to New Jersey’s chapter of American Patriot 3% in November 2020. They said the account advised upcoming civil war and the need to “rise up and fight” for the Constitution.
Research identified the Abual-Ragheb as the person tied to the account, and she was interviewed, where she told the FBI she was a Trump supporter, attended his rallies and was blocked from Facebook and Twitter for her pro-Trump posts.
A source made the FBI’s Philadelphia division aware that Abual-Ragheb’s Facebook page showed her at the Capitol on Jan. 6.

The confidential source told the FBI Adual-Ragheb posted her checking into a D.C. hotel and later saying, “Just left Dc… I got tear gas, paper spray!!! But I was part of the history. We the people won’t take it anymore.”
A second source reported to the FBI that they saw a woman who identified herself as “Rasha” outside a D.C. hotel making a scene. The source says she admitted to being at the Capitol and showed them a picture of her being inside.
According to Courthouse News, Abual-Ragheb is among seven known Three Percenters with ties to the riot. The group is based on "an inaccurate historical claim that only three percent of Americans fought in the Revolutionary War against the British," according to the Anti-Defamation League.
