NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – New Yorkers who are 50 years and older can now get vaccinated at many city-run sites without an appointment.
On Saturday, the city expanded eligibility for walk-in appointments, which had previously been limited to New Yorkers 75 years and older.
More than 5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the city, but officials say the job isn’t finished.
“Our priority for the next few months is clear: we need to vaccinate as many New Yorkers as possible,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said Saturday. “By making it easier for New Yorkers 50 and older to get vaccinated, we are on our way to fully vaccinating 5 million New Yorkers by June.”
New Yorkers can also schedule appointments and locate their nearest city-run vaccine site by visiting nyc.gov/vaccinefinder or calling 1-877-VAX-4-NYC.
