NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – New York state is now allowing residents who are essential workers out of state to get the COVID vaccine.
The state Health Department made the announcement Friday night, saying essential workers can be vaccinated under Phase 1b no matter where they work.
Attention was brought to the issue after a Rockland County woman working at a school district in New Jersey was denied a vaccine at a state-run site in Westchester, according to the Journal News.
New Jersey is still the only state in the tri-state not vaccinating teachers.
