NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- NYPD officers in Brooklyn Monday night fatally shot a man who was chasing another man and a woman and shooting at them, officials said.
The suspect was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, where he was pronounced dead.
The two people who were being chased were not injured.
The officers involved in the shooting were taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Police were called to the scene around 5:50 p.m. following a 911 call of shots fired at East 57th Street and Remsen Avenue in East Flatbush. When officers spotted the suspect -- who was 20-years-old and didn't have any prior arrests, according to police -- shooting, they fired at him.
The NYPD posted to X a photo of a firearm it recovered from the scene, as well as a photo of an unmarked NYPD vehicle that was struck by gunfire.
Also in the vicinity was a 60-year-old man who was also shot. He was shot twice and is in stable condition, but officials did not say if he was connected to the other shooting.
