Police said Demoy Adams, 35, was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident and leaving the scene of an accident causing injury.

The two victims were crossing East Fordham Road at Morris Avenue on foot on Aug 28. at around 8:40 p.m. when Adams, the alleged driver of a black BMW heading east, allegedly struck Murielle Gousse, of Belmont, sending her into the air, according to police.

He also allegedly collided into “metal items” on the sidewalk, which then struck the other woman, aged 53, police said.

Both women were transported to Saint Barnabus Hospital. Gousse was pronounced dead while the 53-year-old woman was left in critical condition, police said.

A NYPD spokesperson told The New York Post that Demoy reported his vehicle stolen after the crash. Police canvassed him leading up to his arrest.

"After months of video canvassing, they were able to get the green light from the DA’s office to arrest him," the spokesman said.
