Paterson shooting leaves 5 wounded, 1 critically

PATERSON, N.J. (WCBS 880) – Five people were wounded in a shooting in Paterson on Sunday morning, authorities said.

The victims were at a gathering near Hillman and East Main streets around 1:40 a.m. when shots were fired, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Of the five people wounded, four were hospitalized, including a 26-year-old man who was in critical condition.

A 35-year-old woman was also killed in a separate shooting in Paterson early Sunday morning.

Stephanie Caro was found shot on Butler Avenue around 1:30 a.m. and pronounced dead at the scene, according to prosecutors.

A 35-year-old man who was discovered shot nearby was hospitalized in stable condition, prosecutors said.

A shooting at a large house party in South Jersey on Sunday morning left two people dead and 12 wounded, authorities said.
