NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Police have made one arrest and are pursuing another in relation to a string of robberies perpetrated by a crime team in the Bronx last month. The NYPD released photos of the suspect Saturday to aid their search.
In each of the three connected robberies two suspects entered a Bronx establishment and demanded money, using either firearms or weapons of opportunity to threaten employees or patrons.
The first robbery occurred Oct. 17 at 10:59 p.m. in a Gulf gas station on East Gun Hill Road in Laconia, police said.
Two men entered the building and displayed a firearm before demanding money from employees and removing $321 from the register, according to the NYPD.
Three days later, at 8:10 p.m. on Oct. 20, two suspects entered a Golden Krust restaurant on East Gun Hill Road, cops said. The restaurant is less than a half-mile away from the Gulf gas station.
The men did not have a gun when they demanded money, police said.
One of the suspects picked up a wet floor sign and pointed it at a 62-year-old female employee in malice before removing $1,300 from the register, according to officials.
The last incident occurred at 12:50 a.m. on Oct. 31 when two suspects entered Dyre Deli at 3805 Dyre Avenue in Eastchester and showed multiple firearms, the NYPD said.
The bandits made out with $450 and cellphones from three male victims, ages 28, 30 and 40, police said.
In the first two incidents the suspects fled the scene on foot, but police confirmed that in the last robbery the duo escaped in a black Jeep Compass SUV.
There were no injuries reported in any of the robberies.
Adrian Fendley, 35, of Olinville, was arrested and charged with robbery at 12:10 a.m. on Nov. 1 in relation to the crimes.
Another suspect, displayed in media provided by the NYPD, is described as wearing a mustache and was last seen in a hooded yellow plaid jacket and black hat.
