NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – Fine dining on deck.

Award-winning chefs will be serving food and drink for an exclusive pop-up restaurant on a 225-foot floating barge in the East River this summer, organizers said.

The five-day event this September will feature fare from the James Beard award-winning restaurant Zohav in Philadelphia and Top Chef judge Kwame Onwuachi, according to American Express, which is hosting the event in partnership with Resy.

The nautical eatery, named “Platinum Coast,” will dock at 30th Street in Manhattan and will be accessible to certain American Express cardholders, with reservations on sale later this month. Diners can expect $115 lunches and $200 dinners.

Organizers told Architectural Digest that the barge is meant to be a nod to New York City’s embrace of outdoor dining during the coronavirus pandemic. The space will also include a cabana, lounge and a live DJ, according to organizers.

The lineup of chefs also includes Nancy Silverton, of the Los Angeles-based Osteria Mozza; Stephanie Izard, from Girl & the Goat; and Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo, the owners of Jon & Vinny’s Italian restaurant, also in L.A.

“Platinum Coast is unlike any event we have produced before. It is by far the largest and most logistically complicated, but that’s also what makes it so exciting,” Vanessa Leitman, Resy’s head of experiential, told Architectural Digest.
