NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- A new name is reportedly entering the race for New York attorney general in 2022.

Republican lawyer Michael Henry has opened a campaign account and is due to campaign across New York, the New York Post reports.

Henry, who works out of Manhattan, has been critical of current Attorney General Letitia James, saying in June that James “has essentially become an advocate for Cuomo.”

James’ office is leading the investigation into sexual harassment allegations levied against Gov. Andrew Cuomo, and reportedly questioned the governor last month.

Cuomo authorized the investigation earlier this year, but has since cast doubt on it.

Henry has also criticized James for her NYPD suit on allegations that officers violated the civil rights of protesters at the height of last summer’s George Floyd demonstrations.

His Twitter account also includes recent criticisms of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s COVID-19 response and President Biden’s Department of Justice in handling the Cuomo allegations.
