
NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A supermarket clerk was shot in the leg by an unidentified man during an attempted robbery at a market in Brooklyn on Friday, police said.
The robbery happened in broad daylight around 3 p.m. at a store located at 1419 8th Ave. in Park Slope.
Police confirmed that the suspect entered the market and displayed a firearm. He then demanded money and fired three rounds of shots.
The supermarket worker, a 50-year-old man, was struck in the leg. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive, according to cops.
Police are currently searching for the suspect, who fled the scene. It was not immediately clear if anything was stolen.
