NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – Eligible New Yorkers can begin scheduling appointments Saturday at two FEMA and state-run mass vaccination sites that open next week in Brooklyn and Queens.
The vaccination sites at Medgar Evers College in Crown Heights and York College in Jamaica will start vaccinating eligible New Yorkers on Wednesday, Feb. 24, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said.
But people can begin making appointments for the sites on Saturday by using New York's “Am I Eligible” website or by calling the state's COVID-19 Vaccination Hotline at 1-833-NYS-4-VAX (1-833-697-4829).
The federally backed sites each have the capacity to administer 3,000 doses of the vaccine every day.
Priority at the Brooklyn and Queens sites will first be given to people in surrounding ZIP codes before opening up to all residents of each respective borough after one week.
A site at the New York National Guard Armory in Yonkers, meanwhile, will open its doors on March 3, Cuomo said, with the capacity to do 1,000 doses per day.
Eligible Yonkers and Mount Vernon residents will be able to start scheduling appointments at the Yonkers site at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24.
