NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — Police are looking for a man who they say drew a swastika in the snow outside of a historic synagogue on the Upper East Side.
Video released by the NYPD on Wednesday shows an unidentified man walking up to the front doors of the Temple Emanu-El on Fifth Avenue and East 65th Street on Tuesday morning.
The footage shows the man walk to a path of snow near the synagogue’s steps, where he crouches down and draws a swastika with his finger.
Police say the man was caught on camera drawing the hate symbol at around 8:15 a.m.
The suspect took off northbound on Fifth Avenue. He is described as a light-skinned male, with a beard and mustache. He was last seen wearing a multi-colored bucket hat, a dark colored hooded parka, blue jeans and black boots.
