NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — The NYPD released new video of an attack on a Black teenager as they continue to search for the woman who they say falsely accused the teen of stealing her cell phone before tackling him in a Manhattan hotel last weekend.

The new surveillance video, apparently from the Arlo Hotel in SoHo where the attack occurred, was tweeted by NYPD Chief of Detectives Rodney Harrison on Wednesday night.

“On Saturday, December 26, the woman in this video falsely accused an innocent 14-year-old teenager of stealing her cellphone. She then proceeded to physically attack him and fled the location before police officers arrived on scene,” Harrison tweeted as he asked for the public’s assistance in locating the woman.

Both the NYPD and the Manhattan District Attorney’s office have said they are investigating the incident. The NYPD said the woman could be charged with assault.

The new video appears to show the woman chasing the teen—the 14-year-old son of jazz musician Keyon Harrod—and pulling him to the ground inside the hotel’s lobby as she confronted him about her missing phone.

In an Instagram caption accompanying an earlier cell phone video of the incident, Harrod said the woman attacked him and grabbed his son after accusing the boy of stealing her iPhone.

“I’m not letting him walk away with my phone!” the woman can be heard saying in Harrod’s video.

An Uber driver returned the woman’s phone to the hotel after the incident, the Associated Press reported.

The woman spoke out for the first time to CNN on Tuesday, telling the outlet she’s worried about the charges she may face.

“Of course, I worry,” she told the outlet. “That’s not who I am. I actually… try very hard to make sure that I am always doing the right thing.”
