NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- An 84-year-old woman sitting at a Brooklyn street corner was struck by a stray bullet Monday in a shooting one lawmaker called "horrific" and "senseless."
Gunfire shattered a peaceful evening shortly before 7 p.m. at Foster and Brooklyn avenues, near the Flatbush Gardens in East Flatbush.
The victim was on a seated walker and talking with a friend when a gunman fired a hail of bullets at a nearby group, sources told WCBS 880.

She suffered two gunshot wounds to the arm, according to police. EMS transported her to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County in stable condition.
She is not believed to be the intended target of the shooting, police said.
The victim's walker was still visible on the street next to a pool of blood as detectives investigated into the night. Crews were power washing the blood off the sidewalk Tuesday.
"It is horrific that an elderly person was harmed in such senseless violence," said Council Member Farah Louis, who represents the area. "And it's appalling that gun violence remains a common theme in our communities. We cannot not stand idly and allow this to be a part of our daily lives."
Louis said she'd be coordinating efforts with violence interrupters and the NYPD to "deploy additional resources" in the area.
No arrests were reported as of Tuesday.
