NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is searching for a man who punched and choked a jogger before an attempted rape inside a Brooklyn park last month, authorities said.
At approximately 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12, a 52-year-old woman was jogging within Shirley Chisholm State Park when she was approached the suspect who was riding a black bicycle, officials said.
The man forced the victim to the ground and proceeded to choke and punch her.
He then threatened the victim with a knife before he removed his pants and ordered the victim to remove her pants.
A vehicle approached and the man forcibly took the victim’s Apple watch before fleeing the park on the bicycle.
EMS transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals / Coney Island in stable condition.
The suspect was last seen wearing a black face mask, black du-rag, light colored sweatpants, multi-colored Crocs, and was carrying a JanSport brand backpack.
