NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A woman hugged a man on a Queens street—before whipping out a knife and robbing him, police said.

The NYPD released a photo Wednesday of the suspect in the July 27 robbery in Jackson Heights.

The 39-year-old victim was walking at 87th Street and Roosevelt Avenue around 3:35 a.m. that Saturday morning when the woman started a conversation with him and hugged him.

As she was hugging him, she removed $850 from his pants pockets, police said.

When he tried to get the money back, she pulled a knife on him and fled westbound on Roosevelt Avenue, according to police.

No injuries were reported in the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
