Woman punches cop responding to disturbance at LI bar

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Police arrested a woman Thursday night after she allegedly punched an officer responding to a disturbance at a bar on Long Island.

According to detectives, at 9:25 pm., officers responded for a disturbance at The Boat Yard Bar located at 1 Ocean Pkwy in Massapequa.

During the investigation, Nyasia Coombs-Jones, 27, became violent and combative and struck a police officer in the face.

The officer suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention at the scene.

Coombs-Jones was subdued and placed under arrest.

There were no other injuries reported.

Coombs-Jones was charged with assault and obstructing governmental administration and will be arraigned on Friday.
