NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — The NYPD is asking for the public's help in finding a dog that has been missing since Saturday after running away from a deadly car crash in Brooklyn.

Police said 42-year-old Michael March lost control of his car and crashed on the Belt Parkway near Flatbush Avenue in Marine Park on Saturday night.

He was rushed to the hospital, but could not be saved.

His fiancée, AnnMarie Fasano, said her dog, Shadow, was in the car at the time of the crash and remains missing.

"My heart was broken twice," Fasano wrote on a GoFundMe page. "My fiancé Michael March was killed in a fatal car crash where my dog Shadow a black beautiful Cane Corso was also in the car at the time of the accident and hasn’t been seen since."

In a Facebook post, Fasano said she has contacted every animal shelter she could find and has been looking everywhere for her dog.

Shadow is a 2-year-old black Cane Corso, weighing about 100 pounds and may be injured. He was last seen near Floyd Bennett Field.

"I lost my heart and I just want to know what happened with my dog," Fasano said.

The NYPD is asking anyone with any information about Shadow’s whereabouts to call the 63rd Precinct at (718) 258-4411.

Fasano also asks anyone who may have seen Shadow to call her at 718-207-4853 or email her at annmariefasano@gmail.com.
