NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — New York City mayoral candidate Andrew Yang is pausing in-person events after a campaign staffer tested positive for COVID-19.
Yang has tested negative and is not experiencing any symptoms.
His campaign said he will hold all events remotely for the next eight days.
"He will not resume in-person events until he receives a negative PCR test after that period," his campaign said in a statement.
The staffer who tested positive most recently attended an outdoor event on Sunday. Contact tracing is underway.
Yang's campaign requires staffers who participate in in-person events to get tested on a weekly basis.
Yang officially launched his mayoral run last week.
