NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- The Boppy Company is voluntarily recalling more than 3 million infant loungers after eight babies reportedly suffocated on the pillows, federal regulators announced Thursday.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said the recall impacts all Boppy newborn loungers, including Boppy Original Newborn Loungers; Boppy Preferred Newborn Loungers; and Pottery Barn Kids Boppy Newborn Loungers.

About 3.3 million of the recalled loungers were sold between Jan. 2004 and Sept. 2021 at stores nationwide, including Pottery Barn Kids, Target and Walmart, as well as online at Amazon.com, for between $30 and $44.

The loungers were sold in a variety of colors and fashions. They measure about 23 inches long by 22 inches wide and 7 inches high, the CPSC said.
