NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A man from upstate New York was charged on Thursday with the murder of three people, including two family members, after slamming his car into the one driven by his sibling, according to state police.
Evan R. Klink, 21, has been arrested and faces multiple charges.
The incident happened on June 17 when Klink was driving his Dodge Ram westbound on Freedom Road in the town of Freedom. He crossed into oncoming traffic, crashing head-on into a Ford Focus driven by his sister, Dahlia Klink, 24, the police reported.
The crash resulted in the deaths of three people, including Dahlia, her 6-year-old daughter, Molly Kibler, and 17-year-old Havanah Lopez.
Kibler and Lopez were pronounced dead at the scene, while Dahlia died due to her injuries at Erie County Medical Center.
A 4-year-old passenger in the car was airlifted to the hospital, while Klink's 19-year-old, Cameron Klink, who was also in the car, sustained serious injuries.
Klink faces charges of murder, aggravated vehicular homicide, vehicular manslaughter, and vehicular assault. He has also been charged with reckless driving, as he was allegedly under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident, according to the police.
Kibler's grandfather, Greg Kibler, started a GoFundMe page for her funeral expenses.
