SummerStage unveils lineup ahead of June 17 return to Central Park

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — SummerStage Festival is officially returning to the five boroughs this month, with shows in Central Park, Harlem, Queens and Coney Island.

This year’s lineup will kick off with a free concert in Central Park on June 17, featuring the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, the festival said in a press release.

Concert-goers will be able to reserve tickets starting Monday, June 7 at 12 p.m., the release said.

“We are so thrilled to bring SummerStage back for all New Yorkers to enjoy in-person, outside, in parks again this summer,” SummerStage Executive Artistic Director Erika Elliott said in a statement. “The artists performing this summer represent a true sense of resiliency in their own art and deep connection to New York City.”

The festival will operate at “modified production levels,” and many of the initial performances will have capacity limits and social distancing requirements, the release noted.
