The incident has sparked protests nationwide, and plenty of unrest in Kenosha today, where Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes spoke with reporters and change won't come overnight, but that fighting for change needs to continue.
"We know that we can't remedy the white supremacy and systemic racism that is built into all of our systems in just a couple of years or with any package of legislation but that doesn't mean we don't act. That doesn't mean that we stand still. We have to do everything we can do within our power."
Blake's attorney, Benjamin Crump, says Jacob Blake is in serious condition.
Kenosha has an 8pm curfew tonight and Governor Tony Evers has activated the Wisconsin National Guard to help keep the peace.
