A bill to beef up the state's sexual harassment law is headed to the Minnesota House floor.
The House Judiciary Committee heard testimony Thursday, including from Amy Schnieder Koosman, who worked as a waitress at a local Perkins, where she says two men harassed her on a weekly basis for a year.
"The trauma that these men and the mangers created was ever-present (and) gave me nightmares," she told lawmakers. "I even called my boyfriend many times on the drive home because I was afraid that they may be following me."
Supporters say the current law needs strengthening because it carries too high of a threshold for harassment in the workplace, letting most offenders off the hook too easily.
