Jimmy Butler has only been with the 76ers for a littler over two months since pushing his way out of the Timberwolves, and apparently, the franchise is already wondering if he's more trouble than he's worth.
Reporter Jackie MacMullan recently wrote a feature on Butler's time in Philadelphia for ESPN.com, interviewing Butler and people in the organizaiton. She expanded on her thoughts in the latest episode of Zac Lowe's Podcast, The Lowe Post, released on Wednesday.
As our Entercom sister station 94WIP in Phildelpahia noted, MacMullan came to a pretty stark conclusion.
"I think he's on thin ice. And I think he's a very talented player and no one has ever called him soft either, he's a very tough player," she said.
MacMullan added:
"I don't know him well enough to know, is it real or is it bravado—this whole idea that I'm going to take everyone on..."
"I can tell you, having spent a couple of days in Philadelphia, they don't love it."
We like to think that somewhere, Karl-Anthony Towns is nodding his head in agreement.
The post on 94Wip has more details on what the 76ers are thinking and the options they're considering for Butler.
