The art, painted along Plymouth Avenue in north Minneapolis near Penn Ave., covers the entire width of the street.

Melodee Strong is one of the 16 artists who painted the mural which was organized by the Minnesota African American Heritage Museum and Gallery.  In a Facebook post, Strong wrote:

"Some of the other incredible letter art...

Let me tell you, we accomplished this in basically 6 hours!!! The other cities you may have seen already do this, they did it in 2-4 days!!!

That’s what I’m talking about!!!

Impressive work!""We celebrate our contributions, achievements and resilience in the state of Minnesota and continue the fight against racism," the Minnesota African American Heritage Museum posted on Facebook.
