Minneapolis has surpassed the number of reported homicides from a year ago with a little more than four months remaining on the 2020 calendar. The year 2019 brought 48 murders in the city, which is now at
50 for this year after two men were fatally wounded within six hours of each other.
One man was found shot to death at daybreak Tuesday morning on 59th Street, just east of Nicollet. It’s not known how long the body had been lying there.
Late Monday night, police stopped a speeding car at 46th and Snelling in Minneapolis and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound on the passenger side. That man later died at HCMC.
The woman who was driving the car is not considered a suspect.
Police say there are no arrests in either case.
