A Twin Cities family is rejoicing this Easter Sunday, one year after their world was turned upside down.
It was April 12, 2019 when a 5-year-old boy named Landen thrown off a Mall of America balcony by a man who was "looking for someone to kill." The nearly 40-foot drop left Landen seriously injured and with a long road to recovery.

Immediately afterwards, a GoFundMe raised over $1 million to help Landen in his family during his recovery.
Landen spent 4 and a half months in the hospital and according to family updates, Landen returned home in August and as of late November, he was walking "perfectly." Landen celebrated turned 6 in January.
On Sunday, his family shared a message of hope through the GoFundMe account.
"This year Easter is on April 12, which is the one-year anniversary of this horrific event that I now call 'the day God sent his Angles to save my son,' a portion of the post reads. "My hope is that you take time to reflect on what’s most important. To feel God’s endless love around you with His message of hope and healing. Forgive who needs to be forgiven and know that Jesus died for you and rose again for your salvation. The message of love and hope that Jesus brought to the world is needed today more than ever. On behalf of myself and my family, we wish you and your loved ones all the Blessings of Easter."
