P.J. Fleck's Minnesota Golden Gophers learned who they will face in the conference-only season when the Big 10 Conference released its 2020 conference-only schedule on Wednesday morning.

The schedule was released ahead of NCAA president Mark Emmert's new conference regarding Division I fall championships in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Gophers kick their season off September 5 on the road against Michigan State. Michigan comes to TCF Bank Stadium in week two to fight for the Little Brown Jug while the Iowa Hawkeyes battle the Gophers for the Floyd of Rosedale in week three. Week four puts the Gophers in Madison where Paul Bunyan's Axe will be up for grabs against the Wisconsin Badgers.

All teams play six divisional games and four crossover games with two built in bye-weeks. The schedule provides flexibility if games must be delayed due to COVID-19. Week 7 and Week 10 are bye-weeks for the Gophers.

The Gophers learned their schedule one day after learning they will play the 2020 season without one of their top players. Big Ten Receiver of the year Rashod Bateman informed the team on Tuesday that he is opting out of the 2020 season.
