Minnesota Vikings safety Jayron Kearse is apologizing after he was arrested this weekend for drunk driving, and carrying a loaded handgun.

Kearse was stopped on eastbound I-94 early Sunday morning after he apparently drove around a barricade.  Police say his blood-alcohol level was .10, and that he was in possession of an unlicensed gun.

Kearse addressed the arrest with reporters Monday at TCO Performance Center in Eagan.

"The team and these fans deserve better. I definately take this matter very seriously, and I'm sorry for putting anybody in harms way."

Kearse said he had not yet talked to Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer, so any disciplinary action he may face is not yet known.
