Minneapolis Police are investigating a shooting that left a 29-year-old man dead.
Officers were called to the 18-hundred block of Emerson Ave North at around 5:30 a.m. Sunday on the report of gunfire.
Samale Barkhadle was taken to HCMC where he died later Sunday.
Officials say the call began as an assault investigation.
"After he passed, that formally became a homicide investigation," said the MPD's John Elder
This is the 30th homicide this year in Minneapolis, which is 5 more than this time last year.
